Reading Rocks

This half-term, all the children in our early years setting have been enjoying listening to an adult read a book to them every day.
The children have listened to classic stories such as “The Tiger who Came to Tea” as well as modern texts like “No-Bot, the Robot with no Bottom.” The children have used what they know about these books to further their learning in their areas of provision.
After looking at a book in the reading area, Zak said, “I like this book.  It is about animals.  This dolphin is pink.  It must live in the Amazon.”  Mr Blagg added, “If we read one book a day from now until the end of year, the children will have learnt new words from over seventy books.”

Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
