Riveting Reads

This week, some new books arrived in school which our Year 6 children will be able to take home and read throughout the academic year.
Reading continues to be a main focus for the academy and it is important that our children have ample opportunities to read for pleasure.  The texts, which are a range of fiction, non-fiction and poetry books, have been chosen to give further challenge to the Year 6 class.
After reading one of the books, Jack said, “We have learnt about adventurers before when we studied Ernest Shackleton and I am keen to find out more.”  Evie added, “The blurb of this book gained my interest and I want to find out what happened to the abandoned bear in the cave.”

Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
