Keyboard Kids

This term, the children in Year 5 have been learning how to play the keyboard with increasing accuracy and fluency during their music lessons.
The children intially learnt the acronym "FACE” which helped them to recognise the different notes on the keyboard. After learning other notes, the class had to read notations and try to play them.  Some children used jottings to help them remember which note they needed to play.
Ayva said, “I am currently learning how to play the guitar and I was able to use my understanding of notation in those sessions to help me read the music.”  Kayla added, “Playing an instrument is harder than in Year 3 as we now have to work out ourselves what notes we need to play.”

Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.

Year 2:  Jensen-Jai Wood
