Last week, all of our children took part in a whole-class debate, organised by the School Council, to discuss an issue linked to animal welfare.
Some of the debates the classes took part in were, "Should all zoos in Britain close down?”, "Should people in Britain be allowed to own as many animals as they wish?” and "Should animals ever be put down?”. Interestingly, many children changed their opinions at the end of the debate.
Coen said, “Our class has learnt about how some exotic animals, which are near extinction, are captured and transported to our country to sell for a lot of money.” Maci added, “Our research showed that some zoos don’t treat animals in small cages with the respect they deserve.”
Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
