Last week, the children in Upper Foundation had a special party to learn more about and celebrate Diwali - the festival of light.
The children have enjoyed taking part in the different activities through the week. They have been able to sequence the story of Rama and Sita and drew their own mehndi. They also made their own diva lamps and can now say what Hindus and other religions do to prepare for Diwali.
Afterwards, Tommy said, "I liked making my diva lamp at Diwali. People use diva lamps to help Rama and Sita find their way back home.” Poppy added, "I know that people have fireworks, give each other presents and clean their house at Diwali."
Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
