Last week, the children found out the school’s new “word of the month” which has been introduced to further develop our children’s language.
In the assembly, Mr. Wood asked the children what they thought the word might mean as well as discussing how the word could be used in the correct context. The children also thought about how they could use known patterns to help them spell the word correctly.
Nina said, “I got a special mention in assembly for using the word “significant” when describing the importance of Fergus’s birthday present after reading our class novel.” Mr. Wood added, “We want children to learn new words so that their language continues to develop over time.”
Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
