To celebrate Waterton Academy Trust’s “Year of Language”, our Upper Foundation Stage children have been using their role play ideas to improve their writing.
After reading the story, "The Snail and the Whale”, the children imagined that they took a trip around the world on a humpback whale. They told their friends everything that saw before writing some of their ideas from the adventure on a postcard.
Ella said, "I liked when the snail saved the whale because it had swam too close to the shore.” Miss Lodge added, "When the children had acted out their ideas, it certainly helped when it came to writing their postcards. They applied their phonics knolwedge to their words too.”
Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
