Sound Detectives

This term, the children in our Lower Foundation Stage have been working hard to improve their phonics skills.
The children have been developing their awareness of sounds made by different instruments.  The children had to name the instrument from its sound when it was secretly played.  The children showed great concentration and really enjoyed discussing the sounds that they had heard.
After one of the sessions, Piper said, “I can hear the jingle bells. You have to shake the bells to make a jingly sound.” Harper added, “I can hear the triangle and it makes a long sound.  I know that you have to use a beater to make the noise that I heard.”

Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
