Last week, the children in Year 2 visited a nature reserve to find out more about the plants and animals that live in our British habitats.
During their science lessons, the children have been learning how living things are suited to their habitats. On the trip, the class discovered lots of different types of plants and trees. Then, in their pond dipping workshop, the children were able to identify and classify different types of species.
Afterwards, Oscar said, “I really enjoyed the pond dipping as we were able to find water beetles, snails and newts. One group even caught a blood worm.” Daisy added, “We also learnt more about different types of plants, such as common plants, and found out what they needed to grow.”
Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
