This half-term, some children in Year 5 have been working hard to develop the outside area in our Foundation Stage during a design and technology club.
First, the children came up with an eye-catching design to a new magical corner of the role-play area. They use tools, such as pliers, to bend, cut and mould wire into a large sculpture. Then, they created signs using pallets and saws before decorating all of their work, sometimes using spray paints.
Arians said, “I liked making the arch as it was challenging. We needed to make sure the screws were secure too.” Destiny added, “I enjoyed making the decorative petals out of wire as we had to make sure that the joins were smooth so the children wouldn’t hurt themselves.”
Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
