Down In The Garden

This half-term, after reading Jack and the Beanstalk, the children in our Lower Foundation Stage have been growing their own beanstalks.
The children have been learning about the life cycle of a seed and have found out what “germination” means.  The children have been busy discovering and recalling what a plant needs to grow.   They are looking forward to seeing which beanstalk will be the tallest by the end of the term.
During the session, Tommy said, "This plant is growing bigger and bigger. I can measure it using the tape measure.” Isla added, "You need the sun and the rain to make seeds grow.” Scarlett said, "Look our seeds have germinated because they have started to grow.”

Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
