Recently, the Junior Leadership Team held a special assembly where they invited members of the Castleford Tigers physical disability team into our school.
The children wanted to find out more about what it was like to be a sportsperson. They also wanted to understand more about the players’ disabilities. They learnt how these players have overcome a disability, such as cerebral palsy, to play the sport that they love.
After the assembly, Harley said, “It was good to learn more about a physical disability rugby league team as their matches aren’t shown on television.” Tia-Jae added, “ I learnt that no one should sit out of a PE lesson just because they have a disability – everyone should take part.”
Congratulations to the following children for winning an achievement award at Tuesday’s assembly.
